Kathy Sierra is an absolute pain for me. I find myself avoiding her blog because every time she posts something it is incredibly intelligent and it gets me thinking! Then I add a bunch of new things to do on to my GTD lists based on what she made me think about. Power like that is dangerous. She has just written a post on ipods (music) increasing passion and last week she wrote another great post on Brain Death by Dull Cubicle.
As a Headhunter I happen to believe that the only enduring source of competitive advantage in the business world is talented people. But talented people are a bit like race horses, they need to be fed well, treated well, and trained endlessly. When they reach their potential they can touch the hearts of many, but when they aren't treated well they can become tough to handle! Talent and passion go hand in hand, and the beauty of talent is that the chance to improve is endless. As Kathy shows in her blog there are still thousands of areas we can all improve at work and at home. Using music to stimulate effort and creating a fantastic learning environment are two of them.
Kathy will be in New Zealand in 2006 at Webstock! I already have my ticket and can't wait, I am looking forward to quizzing Kathy on her thoughts on improving recruiting in software companies. Something I am pretty sure she would have some opinions on.
that is so funny!! I totally agree with you about her...irritating because she is good.

The next step should be something that brings it all together. What does a black belt in passionate creation look like?
