News out that MySpace is heading into Japan. Should be interesting as blogging is BIG in Japan, and social networking mixed with blogging tools have taken off as well. In particular Mixi is the current dominant player with six million users. I have a Mixi account but still haven't had a too much of a look at it. But from what I have seen it looks very useful, but very tightly controlled compared to MySpace (it is introduction only). Mixi has some pretty interesting groups and friends of mine have used it very successfully to complete projects in Japan. It will be interesting to see how they develop now that a major foreign competitor is breaking into the market.
